Every year, in this month, in italy something special is going on.
The event is the "vacations of august", "Ferie d'Agosto" in italian. For someone looking at us from outside it is not clear.
North american culture does not understand neither can have something like that.

Why does a country stop to work (for those ones who could begin...) at the same time and with all its people?
Vacation is a moment in which anyone can rest and have fun, but why all together and at the same time???

The reason is in our history, the middle day of august we celebrate the "Ferragosto".
It is officially a christian celebration, but almost nobody knows it. For us it is just THE vacation.

And few people know that the word comes from ancient latin "feriae augusti", which was the celebration of the roman emperor Augustus and took place in the past on August the 1st, later on moved to the 15th by the Church to associate the celebration with a non-pagan event.

It is culture, tradition and history, three things that you can have in europe, more difficult to get them in america, just because they are younger and more business oriented countries.
To stop working for one month it is not the tipical italian lack of willing to work. And i can say it since i am italian, you cannot say it since a mother can speak badly about his children, nobody else can!

That's something can make an italian different from any other people, doesn't matter business when you have to run an august vacation. It makes us different, and probably can save us from ... something.

By the way we can really block any kind of trasportation in our contry because of this tradition. But look here below, when chinese people decide to go to the sea, independently from any eventual tradition, the effect does not seem different :)

Some nigts ago, in World of Warcraft, i was in Gadgetzan (also reported in this blog) to wait for a friend. While waiting, i saw a troll looking as a skeleton.
There should be a potion, not sure about the name maybe noggerfrogger elixir, that makes a troll look like that.

I could not attack him, since his pvp was off, so i typed /dance and began to dance with him.
He began to do the same, i was listening to sand storm of darude, a not too old techno song.

And for a strange reason i also had Fraps on so i began to record the movie. Few seconds of movie that i posted here as well.

But it has been so funny that i looked again for someone who could look as a skeleton, another troll willing to doing the same.
I offered even gold for it but no way.

So i went back to the original recording, i tried some names that could be the one i read from the movie, finally i created an undead player (horde and alliance players cant speak together) and i contacted the star, Ultralight.

I told him my problem, i needed him to dance again there so i could record a longer movie to post it on my blog, he accepted, he said "5 minuted and i will be there", looooool.

He arrived, we began to dance and to record, at one point he stopped, i asked him to dance more, but i misunderstood, he didnt stop dancing, he turned a campfire on!! and began to dance around it.
Couldnt believe it, so i was not the only crazy freak there!

When you watch it, look always at the troll (the skeleton), eheheh too funny, and the next step... a Rave in Gadgetzan!!

OK, I am not really good with movie reviews, but this is a very nice, more than usual pirate movie.
The sea, the atmosphere, the colours, everything is so....piratesque!

I can't say anything about Johnny Depp, since I saw his movies and he is very charming. Maybe thats the key to the movie. Would it have been the same without him?

This is one question.

An era where women are beautiful and very feminine, and men were chivalrous.
People talked in a very romantic way.
Old English I suppose.

People were very concerned about being civil and to move away from 'barbaric' behaviour.
There seemed to be more sense of adventure, so much to still be discovered. So much still unknown.

While watching this movie, who wouldn't think that they were born in the wrong era?
