Some news from Cuba
Ok, first of all GPRS works now in Cuba.
I am not sure about the charges yet, but i could visit google etc. from my phone. Actually it is much faster than the internet of a hotel
Then, let me say that the hotels in Cuba are basically empty, many workers formerly employed as barmans, waiters etc. are now sent to the farms to collect vegetables, fruits etc. In fact i do not understand why the prices are so up, fine with the high season, but there's no high season just because of a calendar if tourists are not travelling.
Last, a new law from the cuban government. Who wants to study at the university cannot study any more what he/she likes but has to study matters that are going to cover the lack of skills and professionals and expertise in those fields where the country needs more.
Because of the tips that workers can collect in hotels, all the university population gradually moved, unbalancing it, to the tourism courses.
Now the government does not allow anybody to choose the courses: does cuba need more potatoes? you have to study agriculture if you really want to study. Does cuba need better sews, then you have to study as a civil engineer and so on...
